The Partal complex is the last one you will see when you visit the Alhambra, immediately after the Nazari Palaces.

Of the original building, only one side remains : the ladies' portico facing the pool, which originally was completely surrounded.

This part owes its name, either to the Latin portalis, or to the Arab word burtallah which means “a narrow shade”.

Very few remains from the Moorish period and most of it was reconstructed and rearranged in the latter centuries. However, with its pool and gateway portico, it's still a wonderful place to chill out and it offers a great point of view on the Generalife gardens (as you can see on the third picture).
